NEW RELEASEThe Storm - Echaskech (video version) from mach v on Vimeo. This video, directed by Miko Coffey - www.mikocoffey.com - is comprised of 5,600 individual still images which were converted into image sequences, then into quick time movies, then put together by me in Final Cut Pro. There's a tiny bit of video footage in there, too. Dan Arborise "Of Tide And Trail". Of Tide and Trail is filled with positivity for the human beings we are. It is for the tough times we live in, for our hearts and our heads, and for the possibilities of hope. Dan Arborise understands us. Dan Arborise has reached out to us, and given us Of Tide and Trail.
Echaskech "Shatterproof". After the amazingly received debut album, Skechbook, in 2007, this summer sees the release of Shatterproof, an album of bone shaking electronica and soothing synths. Shatterproof showcases their unique style in which melodic dance music blends with a spectrum of flavours; warm chord progressions with filthy subs and heavy crunching beats, all strung together with a hypnotising clarity.
Laroca "Valley Of The Bears". The long awaited follow up to 2006's Friends In Faraway Places, VALLEY OF THE BEARS delivers a heady mix of lush ambient electronica, world flavours and muted beats, from Laroca. £9.99
Loner "Western Sci-Fi". Loner, AKA Geoff Smith, cites his earliest musical influences as Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen and Johnny Cash - solitary artists who reflect their own stories through lyrical story telling, artists that bring you into their own world and their reflective style is evident in Western Sci-Fi. For Loner, his songs are a way to bring other people into the places I see, the things I need to talk about. £9.99
Digitonal "Save Your Light For Darker Days". Producer and instrumentalist Andy Dobson has been writing and performing music as Digitonal since the late 90s. It wasn't until a chance meeting with Egyptian session violinist Samy Bishai in a basement studio in Tooting, however, that the outfit's collision of cinematic atmosphere, AI-era-Warp electronica and classically-influenced beauty fully took shape. Acclaimed releases for Toytronic, Seed and Cactus Island records followed, along with the building of an excellent reputation for dynamic live shows with their expanded line up, including legendary ambient vocalist Kirsty Hawkshaw and harpist Kat Arney (Shadow Orchestra, Chilled by Nature). £9.99
Future Loop Foundation "The Fading Room : Memories & Remixes". Mark Barrott has assembled a highly personal and organic album around these speech samples, using electronic and acoustic instruments as one to present an album that sparkles with originality and wit. It achieves an intriguing balance between conjuring up snapshots of a nostalgic past, whilst being wholly contemporary in musical vision. This musical vision of The Fading Room when performed live by Future Loop Foundation is combined with live visuals performed and mixed by Myogenic which develops this "then" and "now" vision further with a bitter sweet look at the past and the present and the social and political implications for us all." £9.99
